When you search MensWork online, you mostly get boots, gloves, equipment, machines and tools. Many of the men I coach curse the term “MensWork” as it sounds like it will take hard work just to be a man. Other men groan and fear they may end up like their unfulfilled fathers and uncles, or they will have to chomp on cigars, bash women and rip up small towns across the west.

MensWork became mythic in the late 80’s when the poet & translator Robert Bly offered a version of the mature masculine and the devastating effects of remote fathers, missing men and elders. These are the wounds that dis-embody  contemporary “uninitiated” boys and men. The disappearance of male initiation rites along with the ancient stories is a wound that most men suffer from...the very qualities that become alive and newly integrated by participating in this brand of "MensWork".

Our Mens Circles connect men to men and underscore the mature masculine model so men can move into "fathering" themselves by showing up as adult men. The circle is a powerful and primal place for men who offer support toward healing internal wounds and transforming new personal commitments into ongoing results.
